NaNoWriMo 2017

NaNoWriMo

Every November since 2008 I've signed up for National Novel Writing Month and attempted to write 50 000 words in 30 days. I succeeded in 2009 and have been getting progressively worse ever since.

This is my tenth year. It's my first year doing it where I'm not studying in any capacity. It's also the first year I'll be working full-time and I am interested to see if this changes things.

I alternate between pantsing and planning. This year I was going to plan but ran out of time and started writing with only a semi-formed idea of the main character and a vague idea I wanted to write a historical mystery. It's the kind of story that if it is ever going to be any good it will need serious research but I'm seeing where I end up and taking notes of what I'll need to look into after the month is over. We'll see how it goes.

If I feel like procrastinating I might do some updates as I go, or maybe just let you know how I go at the end. If you want to add me as a buddy you can do so here.
